Who We Are

Mission Statement

Our mission is to center, elevate, and create health in environmental design through research, education, and biotechnology.

What We Do & Why We Do It

We are redefining the role of the built environment as a health-generating system. Our mission is to help architects and designers build environments that not only serve functional needs but also actively create physical and mental health. We go beyond traditional design principles to focus on neuroarchitecture – an interdisciplinary field that integrates neuroscience with architectural design to create environments that foster mental health, well-being, and optimal human performance.

Emerging research shows that the body and environment form a unified entity as understood by the brain, with multisensory perception playing a vital role in how we interact with spaces. While you perceive 11 million bits of information per second, only 50 bits are consciously registered, highlighting the profound subconscious impact the built environment has on our health and well-being.

Our work and tech development is rooted in the understanding that how we design our spaces has a direct and measurable impact on our brains, our behavior, and ultimately, our well-being. Too many architectural designs today contribute to depression, boredom, and disease, and it’s time we stop tolerating this and demand more because better quality is possible.

Through innovative research and cutting-edge design practices, we combine placemaking, health, and sustainability to create spaces that improve not only physical environments but also the cognitive and emotional landscapes of those who inhabit them.

At Biotecture Inc., we are committed to driving meaningful change by creating environments that foster holistic wellness, empower communities, and support a more equitable, health-conscious future.

Walking the Talk

  • We have taken Unbounce’s Pay Up for Progress Pledge to prioritize pay parity.

  • We are proud to be working on the Rainbow Registered Accreditation Program for 2SLGBTQI+ Friendly Spaces by Canada’s 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC).

  • We took the Government of Canada’s 50-30 Challenge pledge to support diversity across Canada and improve equity. The 50-30 Challenge aspires to two goals:

    1. Gender parity (50% women/non-binary individuals) on Canadian boards and/or in senior management

    2. Significant representation (30%) on Canadian boards and/or senior management of members of other equity-deserving groups
