Biotecture Inc. Advances to the Second Stage of Grand Challenges Canada’s Being Initiative

We are excited to announce that Biotecture Inc. has advanced to the second stage of review for a $250,000 grant through Grand Challenges Canada’s Being initiative! This opportunity supports our innovative project aimed at addressing maladaptive behaviors in Moroccan schools through innovative architectural installations that enhance mental well-being and create healthier learning environments.

The Being initiative, hosted by Grand Challenges Canada in partnership with Fondation Botnar, Global Affairs Canada, and other leading organizations, focuses on improving the mental health of young people aged 10 to 24 in low- and middle-income countries. This international program fosters research, collaboration, and community-based solutions to drive positive, lasting change for youth mental well-being.

Our project proposes using architectural solutions to create inclusive, adaptable school environments that support positive behaviors and emotional resilience. This milestone reflects the growing acknowledgment of architecture’s role in mental health and education.

As one of Canada’s largest impact-first investors, Grand Challenges Canada is committed to funding bold ideas that deliver measurable social impact. Being part of their Being initiative is an honor, and we are immensely grateful for this opportunity to showcase our vision for transformative design solutions.

We remain hopeful for the next steps and are proud to have reached this stage in the process. Stay tuned for updates as we continue on this journey to make a difference!
